Will Paterson Named a Shareholder at Anthony Ostlund

  • January 6, 2026

We are pleased to announce that William R. Paterson has become a shareholder at Anthony Ostlund Louwagie Dressen & Boylan P.A.

“From the moment he joined the firm as a summer associate, Will Paterson distinguished himself as an exceptional litigator with an uncommon work ethic and an unwavering commitment to our clients,” said Janel Dressen, CEO and Shareholder. “He has quickly earned the trust of both clients and colleagues through his dedication, loyalty, and consistently strong results. We are fortunate to welcome him as a shareholder and look forward to the continued impact of his leadership in our complex litigation practice.”

Will was recognized as an “Up & Coming Attorney” by Minnesota Lawyer in 2025 and named to the “Minnesota Rising Stars” list by Super Lawyers in both 2024 and 2025. He has first chair trial experience representing individuals and businesses in complex commercial disputes, with experience spanning shareholder conflicts, breach‑of‑contract litigation, employment matters, restrictive covenant enforcement, intellectual property disputes, and claims involving fiduciary duties.

Beyond his litigation practice, Will is an active representative of Anthony Ostlund in the broader community. He leads the firm’s on‑campus law school recruitment efforts, focusing on identifying, attracting, and retaining top‑tier talent. He is also a dedicated mentor to junior associates and interns, consistently making himself available to provide thoughtful guidance. Will’s role in shaping the future of the firm is strategic, enthusiastic, and highly effective.

Will graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas and is a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations.
