Thank you for your interest in joining us at our seminar and helping to support Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid
We are excited to present our 2026 Lying, Cheating, and Stealing seminar at the Library at the Minneapolis Club! LCS was originally conceived by Joe Anthony as a way to bring together great legal minds to share innovative approaches and strategies for handling lawsuits involving the liars, cheaters and stealers that are frequently closer than you think!
This year we’re bringing back both our Judges Panel and our GC Panel and have once again packed the schedule with some amazing presenters from our firm and others. We’re excited to share this all with you in a packed one-day seminar.
We have committed to again match the registration fee of seminar attendees and contribute it to Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid.
ALL REGISTRATION FEES WILL BE MATCHED BY ANTHONY OSTLUND & CONTRIBUTED TO MID-MINNESOTA LEGAL AID

Speaker: Janel Dressen, Anthony Ostlund
You think you own it, but do you really? This presentation dives into the murky intersection of trust law and shareholder oppression claims in Minnesota closely held companies. With the appellate court holding that non-trustee beneficiaries lack standing to assert oppression claims on behalf of their trust, we explore who actually gets to cry foul when majority owners overreach. When the Lawyers Do the Lying, Cheating, and Stealing
Speakers: Ryan Lawrence and Ryan Downes, Anthony Ostlund
This seminar typically focuses on (alleged) misconduct by our clients and by adverse parties. In this session, we turn the camera around and examine lying, cheating, and stealing by the lawyers. We will examine recent high-profile cases involving lawyers gone rogue, including the 2026 conviction of Supreme Court lawyer and SCOTUSblog founder Tom Goldstein, and discuss the rules of professional conduct these lawyers violated.
