Anthony Ostlund Baer & Louwagie P.A. shareholder Vincent Louwagie featured in The New York Times.
In the article, “Brokers Countersue to Thwart Suits by Unhappy Investors” by Susan Antilla, Vincent Louwagie discusses the firm’s successful defense of its brokerage firm client, Berthel Fisher & Company. Investors who have lost money are suing brokerage firms and taking their cases to arbitration before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Vincent Louwagie has been successful in defending these suits, in part, by countersuing the investors for reneging on their indemnification agreements. He is quoted as saying, “The investors make representations to buy these things” and have a legal obligation to be truthful.
