Courtland Merrill and Dan Hall obtained a $1.85 million jury verdict for their Minnesota client following a 4-day jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin
The firm’s client, plaintiff Circuit Check, Inc., brought claims against defendant QXQ, Inc. for infringement of three patents related to circuit board test fixtures. QXQ alleged all of the patents were invalid for obviousness. After deliberating less than three hours, the jury rejected QXQ’s obviousness defense, found that the infringement was willful, and awarded Circuit Check $1.85 million in lost profits and reasonable royalties.
