Anthony Ostlund shareholder Janel Dressen and attorney Amelia Selvig represented Rick Burnton in an alleged fraudulent transfer case relating to a mortgage real estate loan for a commercial construction project in Florida.
Mr. Burnton was sued in Florida by an investment group on allegations arising out of his former employment with Marshall Financial Group, LLC.
Janel Dressen argued the motion to dismiss the third amended complaint in Florida State Court. The Honorable Judge Blackwell granted Mr. Burnton’s motion to dismiss from the bench dismissing Mr. Burnton from the case with prejudice. The Court found that Mr. Burnton lacked minimum contacts with the state of Florida and that the corporate shield doctrine protected him from having to appear in a Florida court to defend himself.
